Day 169, Week 25

Your Pregnancy Journey

Well Mommy to be, this may be the time when you might start feeling cramps in your legs while sleeping. Ensure that you make a mention of the same to your doctor or to your prenatal instructor who will guide you with relevant exercises and tips. If you haven’t already please do sign up for a good exercise session with a qualified pre natal instructor who would be able to customise exercise sessions for you as and how your body needs it.

The baby may be pressing against the bladder which will induce frequent urination. This need to urinate frequently also happens due to the hormone relaxin which causes even the bladder muscles to relax. This means that the bladder does not understand that it is empty or full and many times mom will come back from the bathroom and immediately feel like going back again. Also in the second trimester your uterus will move into the abdominal cavity however the urge to urinate often in Pregnancy will continue as and how the trimesters proceed and the baby gets ready to come into this world.

Your Baby’s growth

Yayy!! The small little human inside you is now growing quickly and is developing at each stage. Looks like your inching closer to the big day when your baby will finally be playing in your arms and you would be able to touch, cuddle and feel your baby.  The baby’s soft cartilage initially is now beginning to harden in the form of bones.

Day 170, Bajra Roti & Kadhi

Keep anaemic at bay with this super-tasty and satiating Bajra Roti in Kadhi. This delicious recipe features sumptuous bajra rotis suspended in a tongue-tickling and easy-to-cook kadhi. Bajra is rich in iron, and very effective in keeping up your haemoglobin levels.
That makes this a wonderful recipe for pregnant women. When served with khichdi, the Bajra Roti in Kadhi transforms into a complete meal. The kadhi gets very thick after adding the bajra rotis, so make sure you add them just before serving. –

Day 172, Baby Potatoes & Bell Pepper Stir

The very sight of the Baby Potatoes and Bell Pepper Stir-Fry is appetising. The chunky veggies with the aromatic seasonings make you want to grab a bite immediately. And it would do you a world of good to sink your teeth into this tasty stir-fry, as it is loaded with folic acid from the potatoes and broccoli, a nutrient that is essential in the beginning months of gestation for proper development of your baby’s brain.
In order to get the most folic acid out of the potatoes, we have used it unpeeled, but make sure you wash and clean them well before cooking. The capsicums not only add a splash of colours and flavour to your stir-fry, they also contribute a lot of vitamin C, which helps a would-be mom to fight infections. In all, this marvelous dish gives you the best of both worlds – super taste and good health too.

Day 175, Dal & Vegetable Idli

These nutritious idlis are slightly heavier than the regular idlis as the batter is not fermented. They are very nutritive because of the combination of 3 dals and vegetables like methi, green peas and carrots. These are great for an early pregnancy boost and being an excellent source of iron, fibre, folic acid and vitamin c, they will ensure that you and your baby get plenty of goodness. You can even make sumptuous pancakes with the same batter instead of steaming them into idlis.

Day 171, Breathlessness

Breathlessness in Pregnancy!

Experiencing breathlessness while carrying out everyday tasks? Do you feel like you are unable to climb stairs or speak for long durations without feeling breathless?  Mild Breathlessness in pregnancy is quite normal and can be quite draining to deal with.

Why does this occur?

Pregnant mums lungs are growing to accommodate and provide for additional oxygen for her baby inside of her and this can cause the feeling of breathlessness.  Your Pregnancy hormones are making you suck in more oxygen for you and your baby and even day to day tasks can feel tiring in nature

But don’t worry you can take small measures to help deal with this situation

Deep Breathing

Make some time everyday to do some deep breathing. Concentrate on your breath as you breathe in and breathe out and this practice is not only good for you and your baby’s health but will also help you deal with pregnancy anxieties and breathlessness

Take a few moments!

While climbing stairs mom should pause at every landing take a few deep breaths and then proceed further.

Exercises-

Exercises as suggested by your prenatal care provider can also help deal with the feeling of breathlessness

However along with breathlessness if you experience chest pain, cough or severely not being able to breathe you must call your doctor immediately
